The Walkergate Trust

For the Glory of Christ

The Walkergate Trust was set up in 2001 to support the work of the gospel in the Walkergate area.

Over the years God has been very generous to the church family of St Oswald’s. He has established a growing congregation centred on Jesus, seeking to live in obedience, and striving to serve Him better. However there is still much work to be done to spread God’s word beyond the tiny fraction of the parish that know anything of Him.

Through the continuing generous support from within the church family and from other Bible-believing congregations and individuals around the country, we have been able to establish a degree of financial independence and control over our work of proclaiming the gospel in this area. The Trustees meet regularly to oversee the work.

The Mission Statement of the Walkergate Trust represents the aim of the church family of St Oswald’s:

To know Christ and to make him known by proclaiming and living out the biblical gospel. To teach and explain the Bible in order that people may come to repentance and faith and grow to maturity in Christ.

God has been very good to us as a Trust, and in all our plans we are eager to honour Him. We continue in the knowledge that unless God is active, then nothing of lasting value can be achieved.

The Trustees of the Walkergate Trust are Pam Bell, Jenny Charteris, Chris Downs, Guy Letts and Julia Sanders.
