The North East Gospel Partnership

St Oswald’s Walkergate is a member of the North East Gospel Partnership – a partnership of Bible believing evangelicals in the North East of England.

The Partnership exists to glorify God by:

 Expanding gospel ministry in the North East region

 Encouraging evangelicals to contend for biblical Christianity

We aim to achieve this by:

 Providing a network of support and training for evangelism and gospel ministry

 Multiplying congregations/fellowships

 Sending people into gospel ministry

 Promoting apprenticeship schemes

 Providing information and support related to issues within our denominations

We do not wish to undermine good things going on in our denominations or encourage people to think in a separatist way, but we do want to encourage those with opportunity to be involved in the reformation of our denominations from within their structures.

The Doctrinal Basis for the North East Gospel Partnership:

1. We believe the Bible to be ‘God’s word written’, the supreme authority in doctrine and practice, and in its sufficiency and clarity for the resolving of disputes about Christian faith and life.

2. We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, in his sinless life, in his miracles, in his vicarious death and atonement through his shed blood, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father and in his personal return in power and glory.

4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Spirit is essential.

5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to serve God and live a godly life.

6. We believe in the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and eternal life.

7. We believe in the spiritual unity of the church, which is the body of Christ composed of all who are regenerated through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

8. We believe in the primacy of evangelism and nurture in the local church’s task of proclaiming the gospel of God.
